For parents who are exhausted, not naive
You've tried everything. But you haven't tried this.
You know your kid. You know something's off, and you're tired of hearing "it's just a phase." Building Life Foundations pairs your teen with a mentor who meets them where they actually are — while keeping you fully in the loop, every step, over Zoom, wherever you are.

Names and identifying details are changed to protect each family's privacy.
"I sent you an angry teen. You gave me back a young adult. You taught me how to move from a parent to a friend."
- Amy
"Our daughter would sneak out. Her grades were failing. We thought we had lost her. We talk now. Her grades are up. And we have connected with her. Thanks for working with us."
- Mark and Cindy
Let's be clear
What this actually is
THIS ISN'T...
-
A replacement for therapy or medical treatment
-
A place where you're shut out of what's happening
-
An attempt to "fix" your kid like something's broken
-
A quick-fix program with no follow-through
THIS IS...
-
A complement to clinical care when it's needed — we refer out when something is beyond coaching's scope
-
Regular updates on how things are progressing
-
A relationship your teen actually engages with, instead of resisting
-
Real accountability, for showing up and for follow-through

"Some people don't need to be rescued — they need someone who believes they can rescue themselves."
— Sonny Robitaille, Mentor & Life Coach for Teens & Young Adults
Sonny works with teens navigating real pressure — at home, at school, with friends — building the kind of trust that gets past the one-word answers you've probably been getting for months.

The framework
What you'll actually see happen
01 — Realign
We find out what's really going on
A conversation with you, and a separate one with your teen, to understand what's underneath the behavior — not just the behavior itself.
02 — Rebuild
Consistent, ongoing sessions
Regular Zoom sessions with Sonny, plus check-ins with you on themes and progress — so you're never left guessing what's happening
03 — Renew
Change you notice at home
Your teen builds their own tools and reasons to want something different — the kind of change that shows up at the dinner table, not just in a session.
Common questions
What parents often ask us
"Will you tell me everything my teen says?"
Your teen stays honest with Sonny because he isn't reporting every word back — but you'll always know how things are going, and if safety is ever a concern, that always comes first.
"Is this the same as therapy?"
No. Coaching complements therapy and medical care — it doesn't replace it. If something needs clinical attention, that's exactly what we'll tell you, and we'll help you find the right next step.
"What if my teen doesn't want to do this?"
Common, and not a dealbreaker. The first conversation is low-pressure by design — most teens come around once they realize it isn't a lecture, a punishment, or another adult trying to "fix" them.
"How do sessions actually work?"
Everything is held over Zoom, so it fits your family's schedule wherever you are. Each session is broken down into two parts: a 15-minute update for the parent, then a 40-minute coaching/mentoring session with your teen (the remaining 5 minutes are to allow the parent and/or teen a little extra time, if needed). Each session is an hour long and costs $125, including unlimited texts or emails between the hours of 9am-9pm CST. We will be meeting once per calendar week.
